As this project progresses I am increasingly inspired by texture and and organic shapes. Since 3D printing is usually done in plastic materials the resulting products lack flexibility. It would be interesting to incorporate shapes that lend themselves to being flexible in my necklace design. Organic shapes are also an element I'd like to incorporate. I feel that the aesthetic would contrast with the technology that is used to print them.
My design incorporates twining shapes reminiscent of twisting vines that slopes downward to emphasis the collar bone. With loops at the edge of each piece this necklace fastens with a satin ribbon. Overall I plan to construct this design in Rhino and Illustrator.
