In our classes upcoming 3D printing project I would like to focus on printing a pendant or a necklace. For my design I want to focus on unconventional shapes and objects that are not commonly used in jewelry. I feel that using the 3D printer allows for a higher level of creativity in the design process since construction doesn't need to be a strong concern. Although we only have access to a small 3D printer I think it would be interesting to print necklaces that appear to be body pieces instead of conventional jewelry, much like the picture on the far left. As for my main design inspiration I am going to focus on organic shapes and silhouettes found in nature like the twig inspired necklace on the far right.
